Our objective is to maintain a business which is able to provide our clients with direct access to our management team. In that way we ensure projects are completed on time using our ability to personally review each stage from design through to commissioning.
We have no limit to the total value of a project, but we now undertake a smaller number of projects at any one time.

November 1989
The company was established and traded as Premier Fire Protection (Qld) by GM Fire Managing Director, Greg Bourke.
November 2007
The company had an annual turnover exceeding $12 million and employed in excess of 60 staff and contractors. Premier sold it's 'fire business unit'.
November 2016
GM Fire was re-established as a Fire Contracting business.
Today
The company now operates as a low overhead, low cost, high quality fire contractor utilising years of experience in the construction industry.

Gregory Bourke

Director of GM Fire Pty Ltd

Greg is highly regarding in the Fire Protection Industry, with his most recent recognition as a lifetime member of the NFIA. During his 44 years in the industry, he has served as chairman of the NFIA (National Fire Industry Association), retired director of JIST and the Fire Industry Training Centre and founding director of Premier Fire Protection (Qld) Pty Ltd and Premier Fire Protection (NQ) Pty Ltd Greg’s vision for GM Fire was to provide high-quality fire contractor utilising our years of experience in the construction industry and importantly, work closely our its clients to lead the way in innovation and best practice. At GM Fire, Greg is responsible for QA review at all stages of our projects.

James Pretty

Director of GM Fire Pty Ltd

James holds over 17 years’ experience in the Fire Protection Industry in 2013. Having progressed from an electrical apprenticeship through to Construction Manager and Services Manager rolls, and most recently as Director. It is due to this experience that James has a vast knowledge of products, services and compliance requirements, including multiple aspects of Australian Standards. At GM Fire, James is responsible for providing estimating services, design management and QA review of all projects.

Drew Brooks

Manager at GM Fire Pty Ltd

Drew is well known within the fire industry due to his 26 years of experience in the field, he holds the position of manager at GM Fire, where he is accountable for design management, installation compliance, and project certification. As GM Fire's Company Nominee, he holds numerous qualifications in different streams of Fire Protection licensing with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, which demonstrates his continuous commitment to education and industry-specific training.

Brendon Tonges

Project Manager at GM Fire Pty Ltd

Brendon has 8 years’ experience in fire industry progressing through a number of different positions from an electrical apprenticeship to site foreman & supervisor roles and most recently project management. Over the last few years Brendon has managed several projects including the Clem Jones Tunnel LHD replacement, the MacGregor Homemaker Centre and the Paradise Gardens Shopping Village. At GM Fire Brendon is responsible for the project management of our larger projects as well as providing onsite support to our technicians.
